Stay Updated: Gmail Simplifies Tracking Your Upcoming Package Deliveries

Gmail has introduced a new “Purchases” tab that lets users see all their package deliveries in one spot. Announced recently, this feature collects purchase-related emails, including past orders. Now, tracking your purchases is even simpler.

You’ll still get alerts for packages arriving within 24 hours right at the top of your inbox. The “Purchases” tab is a handy way to keep everything organized.

This update builds on Gmail’s package tracking, which started in 2022. Back then, users could track deliveries without visiting the carriers’ websites. Now, it’s become even better with this new tab.

Holiday Shopping Made Easy

Google highlights that this feature will help during the busy holiday shopping season. According to PwC’s 2025 holiday outlook, 39% of holiday gift spending will happen from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday. With the “Purchases” tab, keeping track of all those deliveries will be a breeze.

This feature is available for personal Google account users on both mobile and web, starting today.

Improved Promotions

Alongside this update, Gmail is enhancing its Promotions category. Users can now filter promotions by “most relevant,” ensuring they see updates from brands they love first. Gmail will even remind users about upcoming sales and offers.

This functionality will start appearing on mobile for personal accounts in the coming weeks.

A Shift in Shopping Habits

The way we shop is changing. A recent survey from Statista found that more consumers prefer online shopping over in-store visits, with 62% of respondents favoring the convenience of online purchases. Features like the new “Purchases” tab are likely to become essential for managing this online shopping surge.

With these updates, Gmail aims to make our online shopping experience smoother and more organized. As our shopping habits evolve, tools like these will play a key role in how we manage our deliveries and promotions.
