Bryant University and Phantom Farms Brewing have teamed up to craft a unique beer for the upcoming football season. This partnership is extra special because Jason Macari, the owner of Phantom Farms and a Bryant alumnus, has deep roots in the Smithfield community.
Jason expressed his excitement, saying, “Partnering with my alma mater is both an honor and a full-circle moment.” He believes that this collaboration showcases both the university’s heritage and the local brewing culture.
This initiative strengthens the bond between Bryant University and its community. It not only highlights the local craft beer scene but also encourages support for businesses nearby. In fact, Phantom Farms Brewing is just a short drive from campus, making it a convenient spot for fans.
Bill Smith, Bryant’s Vice President for Athletics and Recreation, echoed this enthusiasm. He noted that this new beer celebrates Bryant’s long history of excellence, dating back over 150 years. The beer will be available during home games at Beirne Stadium and will also have its own dedicated space, the Phantom Farms Brewing Beer Garden.
Moreover, the craft beer will soon be accessible at various locations, including Phantom Farms’ main spot in Cumberland, RI. This collaboration not only fosters school spirit but also brings people together, creating a sense of pride within the community.
In recent years, many universities have embraced partnerships with local breweries. According to a recent survey, nearly 60% of college students enjoy craft beverages, underscoring the growing trend of merging local businesses with school traditions.
As the Bulldog community gears up for the season, this collaboration promises more than just a drink. It’s a celebration of camaraderie, local pride, and the rich history that binds the university to its alumni and fans. Cheers to new traditions!
