NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University men’s cross country team recently finished 8th at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama. This event featured fierce competition, but the Bruins outperformed notable teams like Florida State and Miami.
Senior Andrew Hammel was the standout runner for Belmont, finishing 29th with a time of 24:22.0. Close behind him was senior Zach Brill, who clocked in at 24:40.5. Other strong finishes came from Sam Shuman and Max Malloy, both running under 25 minutes.
Junior Drew Brill and freshman Noah Mathews also made impressive debuts, landing in the top 100. It was a first-time experience for Malloy, Mathews, Charley Townsend, and Aaron Richter, who ran unattached.
