University of Pennsylvania’s Pollock Shines as Ivy League Rookie of the Week!

PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League has named University of Pennsylvania freshman libero Addison Pollock as the Rookie of the Week.

Pollock had an outstanding performance at the Charm City Classic, racking up 71 digs over three matches. She led the team in digs during all these games. Her highlights include 24 digs in the first match against Coppin State, 25 digs in a swift three-set victory over Lafayette, and another 22 digs in a tough four-set loss to Towson. This impressive run means she has now recorded over 20 digs in five consecutive matches. Beyond her digging prowess, she contributed 17 assists and five service aces, including three against Towson.

Pollock’s performance stands out not just for its stats but also for the energy she brings to the court. Expert analysts in sports performance often say that a strong defensive player can change the game’s momentum, and Pollock seems to embody that principle well.

Looking ahead, Penn volleyball has a packed schedule. They’ll open their home season against NJIT this Wednesday at 7 p.m. Then, they’re heading to the Delaware Invitational, where they’ll face the University of Delaware on Friday and Saint Peter’s College on Saturday.
