Lifestyle hospitality brand Faena has officially landed in New York City, launching a sleek, 120-room hotel designed to immerse guests in the city’s vibrant culture. This new spot is located in Chelsea, right next to the High Line. It’s the latest addition to the Faena family, which started in Buenos Aires and expanded to Miami Beach.
The hotel aims to blend art, culture, and community, creating unique experiences for visitors. Its design features striking patterns and references to the glamour of old New York, thanks to contributions from Faena’s in-house team and designer Peter Mikic.
A highlight of the hotel is the signature restaurant, La Boca. Led by renowned chef Francis Mallmann, the menu draws inspiration from Patagonian cooking methods. La Boca doesn’t just serve food; it also showcases pop-art murals by Edgardo Gimenez and custom chandeliers by artist Alberto Garutti, all reinforcing the hotel’s artistic vibe.
For social interactions, guests can enjoy The Living Room, which boasts two Art Deco bars and a cozy outdoor terrace. Coming soon is the 12,000-square-foot Tierra Santa Healing House. This wellness center will include a hammam, treatment rooms, and fitness studios, featuring South American healing therapies that use indigenous ingredients.
Next spring, Faena Theatre will open, showcasing bold artistic productions and cabaret performances that promise to delight audiences.
This opening comes just after Marriott’s renovation of W New York – Union Square and amidst many other significant hotel launches this season, such as Delano Miami Beach. With this flurry of activity, New York’s hospitality scene continues to evolve, offering fresh experiences for both tourists and locals.
Recent data shows that demand for unique boutique hotels like Faena is on the rise. According to a survey by the American Hotel and Lodging Association, travelers increasingly seek personalized experiences and artistic environments. This trend is reshaping how hotels approach design and amenities, focusing on local culture and artistic expression to attract visitors.
