Indian Railways is launching a new Amrit Bharat Express train that will link Brahmapur in Odisha to Udhna, near Surat in Gujarat. This train aims to improve travel connections and offer a comfortable ride for passengers, especially for low-income families.
This service is expected to start soon, although the exact launch date has not been announced. It will make stops at 12 stations along the route, including Palasa, Vizianagaram, Rayagada, and Nagpur, among others. Notably, the train can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h, enhancing travel efficiency.
India currently operates 11 Amrit Bharat Express trains across different routes, facilitating affordable travel for many. With the introduction of this new service, Railways hopes to make train travel easier for more people.
Furthermore, the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai is gearing up to produce a new line of Amrit Bharat trains. These upcoming trains will feature both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned coaches to cater to diverse passenger needs.
According to a recent survey, 75% of travelers prefer trains for short to medium distances due to affordability and comfort. This trend highlights the growing importance of robust rail connections in India.
As the Amrit Bharat Express trains expand, they promise to create a significant impact on regional connectivity. This development underscores the government’s commitment to improving public transportation and supporting economic growth in various states.
