Empowering Women Entrepreneurs for Viksit Bharat 2047: Goldman Sachs Teams Up with IIMs – Latest Updates from Lucknow

Goldman Sachs is teaming up with two top Indian business schools to strengthen its ‘10,000 Women’ initiative. The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) will help women entrepreneurs get the skills they need to grow their businesses. This expansion aligns with India’s vision for a developed nation by 2047.

The ‘10,000 Women’ program offers business education, mentoring, and access to funding for women around the world. With this new partnership, Goldman Sachs aims to boost the number of women entrepreneurs it supports in India from about 3,800 today to 10,000 by 2033. They plan to graduate 1,000 new entrepreneurs next year alone.

Sonjoy Chatterjee, the CEO of Goldman Sachs in India, emphasized the importance of partnering with these top institutions. “We’re doubling down on our support for women entrepreneurs,” he said. This collaboration aims to address serious challenges women face, like securing funding and building professional networks.

Prof. Bharat Bhasker, the Director of IIM Ahmedabad, pointed out that this initiative can help break down barriers for women in business. “We want to foster an ecosystem where women can innovate, grow, and lead in the economy,” he said.

IIM-L director, Prof. MP Gupta, echoed these sentiments. He believes that promoting female entrepreneurship is essential for economic growth and social change in India. “It’s about more than just breaking barriers; it will inspire future generations,” he noted.

A recent Goldman Sachs report on “India Womenomics” highlights that India is in a unique position with its growing workforce. However, to fully take advantage of this potential, the country must increase job opportunities for women. Currently, women’s participation in the labor force remains significantly lower compared to other countries.

This new partnership comes at a time when social media is buzzing with support for female entrepreneurs. Many online communities are rallying for women’s empowerment, sharing success stories and resources widely.

As India continues to evolve, initiatives like this can play a key role in shaping a more inclusive economy. By empowering women, we take significant steps toward a balanced and prosperous future. This partnership shows promise not just for individual entrepreneurs but for the entire nation as it strives for growth and equality.
