DJI just launched the Osmo Nano, a compact action camera that’s easy to wear and mount anywhere. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket, making it great for capturing adventures on the go.
The Osmo Nano has two parts: the tiny camera and a detachable Multifunctional Vision Dock. The camera itself weighs just 52 grams, while the dock adds another 72 grams. You can take the camera underwater up to 10 meters, but the dock only has an IPX4 rating, so it’s not waterproof.
It features a new 1/1.3″-type CMOS sensor with 6880×5160 resolution. With a broad field of view at 143° and a focus distance of 35 cm, it can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. If you want to slow things down, it can go up to 120 fps in slow-motion mode. Plus, you get options for color grading with 10-bit video and D-Log M. The electronic stabilization features, like RockSteady 3.0, keep your shots steady even during movement. You can also snap photos at 35MP!
The camera has built-in storage, with options for 64GB or 128GB. You can expand this with a microSD card up to 1TB in the dock. It has a battery that lasts about 90 minutes for 1080p video but can run up to 200 minutes when docked with the display turned off. Charging takes about 20 minutes for 80% when connected to the dock.
The dock features a 1.96-inch OLED touchscreen. With a resolution of 314×556 and a peak brightness of 800 nits, it’s easy to monitor your shots, whether the camera is attached or not.
To help you get the most out of the Osmo Nano, there are various accessories available. These include a Magnetic Hat Clip, Magnetic Lanyard, Magnetic Headband, and Magnetic Chest Strap. You can mount the camera almost anywhere with additional mounts and a dual-direction magnetic ball-joint adapter.
The Osmo Nano is priced at €279 for the 64GB model and €309 for the 128GB model. The package includes the camera, dock, clips, a protective case, and USB-C cable. However, it won’t be available in the US at launch.
According to a recent survey, action cameras are becoming increasingly popular, with 62% of users planning to buy one in the next year. This trend highlights the growing demand for portable, high-quality cameras like the Osmo Nano. As outdoor activities surge in popularity, more people want to capture their experiences with ease and convenience.
