Micah Parsons had a tough homecoming at AT&T Stadium on Sunday night. After the game ended in a 40-40 tie with the Cowboys, he didn’t hold back his feelings.
“Honestly, I’m pissed off,” Parsons admitted. “I’m really disappointed in how we played. I told Jordan [Love], ‘Thank you for having our back today.’ He showed up for us, but we didn’t return the favor.”
Parsons recognized Dak Prescott’s strong performance, giving kudos to the Cowboys quarterback for his game effort. “Dak played a hell of a game,” he said.
Parsons, who played four seasons in Dallas before being traded to the Packers, mentioned he was happy to see some old teammates and even exchanged jerseys with Trevon Diggs. However, some feelings toward Cowboys owner Jerry Jones lingered.
“The emotions went away the moment I got traded,” Parsons explained. He found out about the trade through his agent and felt disrespected. “I didn’t get to hear it from him. That part was gone for me.”
In the game, Parsons had three tackles and three quarterback hits. His only sack was a crucial moment in overtime that forced the Cowboys to settle for a field goal. “It’s about not letting your teammates down,” said Prescott. “I owe it to everyone in the organization to give my best every time.”
At one point, Parsons left the field after taking a hit but returned shortly after being checked for a concussion. “I thought it was strange,” he remarked about the situation.
