The run celebrated the strong ties between India and Malaysia, which have been growing steadily, especially after the launch of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
This year marks the one-year anniversary of this partnership, which was announced during Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to India. The run ties into the larger Seva Pakhwada campaign, emphasizing selfless service and highlighting India’s achievements in fields like technology, healthcare, and education under Modi’s leadership.
According to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center, a significant 75% of Indians abroad feel a strong connection to their homeland. This illustrates how events like the Viksit Bharat Run can reinforce cultural ties and enhance community engagement among the diaspora.
Abhishek Srivastava from Honeywell pointed out that this event connects participants to the vision of an Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) India. It reflects how simple community-driven initiatives can bring people together and foster a sense of belonging.
