Jessica Greaves has been appointed the new executive director of the Southern Arkansas University Foundation. Her selection highlights her solid experience in education and her dedication to the Magnolia community.
The Southern Arkansas University Foundation plays a vital role in connecting donors with the university’s needs. It manages scholarships, endowments, and special projects, which ultimately help students achieve their goals and support faculty and programs.
In her new position, Greaves will focus on managing finances and enhancing donor relationships, which are crucial for advancing the vision of SAU. Her expertise is expected to deepen engagement within the university community.
“I am thrilled to have Jessica join the Foundation. Her skills in communication and commitment to SAU make her the right fit,” said Dr. Connie Wilson, SAU’s Vice President for Advancement.
Greaves isn’t new to SAU. Since 2019, she has held various roles, including serving as the assistant director of communications and marketing. In these roles, she worked closely with senior leadership, managed budgets, and created multimedia projects aimed at diverse audiences, including prospective students and alumni.
She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from SAU and a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications from Ouachita Baptist University. Greaves is dedicated to continuous learning, attending professional conferences, and completing the Mulerider L.E.A.D. program.
Her work has garnered numerous awards, showcasing her impact at SAU. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in her new role, emphasizing how the Foundation transforms generosity into meaningful opportunities for students.
Greaves is also active in the Magnolia community. She volunteers at Central Baptist Church and serves on the board for the Miss Southern Arkansas University Scholarship Competition. She has spent years contributing to SAU’s Staff Senate and has been involved in various university activities.
Having lived in Magnolia her entire life, Greaves embodies a strong connection to the area. She and her husband, James, are raising their son, Colton, in a community that she loves.
As SAU looks ahead, leadership like Greaves’ will be crucial. The Foundation’s work continues to evolve, reflecting broader trends in education and community engagement. Recent surveys indicate that a growing number of universities are focusing on building relationships with alumni to enhance funding for scholarships and programs.
