Delta reported that the wing of Flight 5155 hit the fuselage of Flight 5047. A flight attendant on Flight 5047 suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital. Flight 5155 carried 32 people, while Flight 5047 had 61 on board.
Passengers on Flight 5047 captured footage showing damage to the wing. A pilot informed them over the intercom about the collision, indicating it had happened during taxiing. Fortunately, the Port Authority noted that airport operations were unaffected.
After the incident, passengers were safely evacuated and directed to shuttle buses. Delta announced that they would arrange hotel accommodations and rebook those in need onto new flights.
