Muscat’s Indian community recently came together for the Viksit Bharat Run 2025. Organised by the Indian Embassy and MY Bharat, this event took place on October 1 across more than 150 locations worldwide. It celebrated fitness, community spirit, and environmental responsibility.
The run was part of the Seva Pakhwada, a period dedicated to service from September 17 to October 2. Participants in Muscat showcased their commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India, also known as Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The event featured a 5-kilometer run under the theme “Run to Serve the Nation.” It was more than just a fitness activity. It embodied the spirit of Seva Bhav, or service to others, and highlighted India’s focus on self-reliance and sustainability.
More than 150 people joined in, pledging to support a self-reliant India. A significant moment was the collective recitation of the Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge, emphasizing unity and shared goals among the Indian diaspora.
Another initiative during the event was “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” where participants planted trees, reinforcing a commitment to a greener planet.
The Viksit Bharat Run served as a platform for connecting the Indian diaspora with local communities. It emphasized the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” which means “the world is one family.” Communities from cities like London, New York, and Sydney joined together, showcasing pride in their heritage while reaffirming their commitment to India’s development.
This run was a landmark event, highlighting India’s cultural and developmental progress. It’s a reminder of the power of community and shared aspirations. Together, let’s continue moving toward a self-reliant and developed India.
