Villanova Men’s Tennis Ready to Shine at the Saint Joseph’s Invitational

The Villanova University men’s tennis team is gearing up for their second fall tournament at Saint Joseph’s from October 3 to 5. After a strong performance at the Lehigh Invitational, they are looking to carry that momentum forward.

In their last competition, junior Ethan Carr and freshman Ethan Solop stood out, winning all their matches. The team showcased their skills with a 7–2 win against Lafayette and a tight 6–6 match against Lehigh. Players like Cooper Gordon, Justin Frattarelli, Carr, Solop, Cameron Kruep, and Ryan Benoit each contributed victories in singles play.

The doubles matches were equally impressive. The Wildcats kicked off with a 3–1 win over Lafayette and secured a 4–2 victory in the third round. Notable pairings included Thomas Wakefield and Kush Anand, who won decisively at 6–3, and Quincy Jones and Jack Sherner, who finished strong at 6–2.

As the team heads to Saint Joseph’s, Cooper Gordon will play on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the SF Hawk Hill category. Other players including Quincy Jones, Ethan Carr, Frattarelli, and Anand will compete in the SF Gray category. The rest of the team, including Solop and Krup, will participate in different draws throughout the weekend.
