Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is leading Ondo State’s involvement in this initiative, focusing on watershed management and community-driven climate adaptation strategies. During the launch, the state’s delegation, including Finance Commissioner Mrs. Omowumi Isaac and Environment Commissioner Dr. Tob Loko, showcased their commitment to these goals.
Expected changes include better land management, flood control, and protection for fragile ecosystems. Interestingly, recent research shows that Nigeria faces significant climate risks, with about 70% of the population vulnerable to climate change impacts. This makes such projects even more critical.
