Oakland University Shines with 3rd Place Finish at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic

The Oakland Women’s Golf team secured third place for the second year running at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic in Bartonville, Illinois. This consistent performance saw four players finish among the top 20.

Olivia Hemmila stood out as the leading player for the Golden Grizzlies. This marks her third consecutive tournament where she was the top team finisher. Senior Grace Boczar matched Hemmila’s performance with a solid two-over-par in the final round, tying for the ninth overall spot. Boczar excelled by making the most pars, totaling 40 out of 54 holes.

Logan Bentley also shone, recording her best scores of the season. She tied for 15th place and was one of just four players to make an eagle during the tournament. Bentley also notched seven birdies, placing her among the top players in that category.

Lily Bargamian and Paige Scott also contributed to the team’s success, each finishing in the top 25. Bargamian had the third-highest number of birdies with nine, finishing tied for 19th place. Scott also scored an eagle and finished 24th.

The Golden Grizzlies’ performance remained consistent compared to last year’s event, with only a slight increase in their total team score. They were 43 strokes behind second-place host Bradley but maintained a solid lead over Evansville by 15 strokes.
