Transform Your Connectivity: Exciting Wi-Fi Upgrades at Purdue University Northwest’s Westville Campus

Wi-Fi Upgrade at PNW Westville Campus

On October 13–14, 2025, the Westville campus will see upgrades to its Wi-Fi service. This update aims to provide faster and more reliable connections for devices that are compatible.

After the upgrade, there will be some changes to how devices connect to the Wi-Fi:

  • eduroam: This network will now use WPA3 encryption. Devices that only support WPA2 or older won’t be able to connect to eduroam.
  • attwifi: This network will still be available for devices that can only connect using WPA2.

As of now, these changes won’t affect the Hammond campus.

It’s a good idea to check if your device supports WPA3 before the upgrade. Most devices made after 2018 are compatible. If you have questions about your device, feel free to reach out to the Customer Service Center (CSC) at csc@pnw.edu or call (219) 989-2888.

In recent years, the importance of robust internet access on campuses has grown significantly. Research shows that students perform better academically when they have reliable wireless access. According to a survey by the Pew Research Center, 83% of college students said that reliable internet is essential for their education.

As the world shifts toward more online learning, campuses must continually enhance their tech services. This upgrade is a positive step for the PNW Westville community, ensuring everyone can enjoy a better Wi-Fi experience.

Thanks for your understanding!
