Amazon is gearing up for its annual Prime Big Deal Days from October 7 to 8. But it’s not the only retailer making waves this month. Best Buy is hosting its “Techtober Sale,” running until October 12, featuring fantastic tech deals on everything from laptops to electric bikes.
A representative from Best Buy shared that they are adding new markdowns daily. Shoppers can grab these deals online, via their mobile app, and in stores. Best Buy’s strategy to run sales alongside Amazon’s major events has been consistent since Amazon started its fall sale in 2022. They also did this during Amazon’s Prime Day in July, creating a competitive edge that many shoppers have come to appreciate.
Walmart and Target are also jumping in with their own sales. Walmart’s “Walmart Deals” event is from October 7 to 12, and Target is holding its Circle Week sales from October 5 to 11. However, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days are unique, as they require a paid Prime membership to access discounts.
After exploring Best Buy’s Techtober Sale, I found dozens of items that are either cheaper or exclusively available there. For example, the Asus Zenbook A14 is priced at $580, while the iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max with AutoWash Dock costs $600 at Best Buy, as it’s sold out at Amazon.
While Amazon tends to have lower prices on AirPods and some TVs, Best Buy has notable discounts on Apple Watch models and selected iPads. For instance, the Apple iPad (11-inch) is down from $349 to just $279. So, whether you’re eyeing a new laptop or a trendy gadget, comparing prices can save you significant dollars.
In recent years, there’s been a noticeable trend of price-matching among retailers. According to a 2023 survey from RetailMeNot, 76% of consumers check multiple websites before making a purchase. This behavior creates healthy competition among retailers, ensuring shoppers find the best deals possible.
As the shopping events continue, keep an eye on new deals that might pop up. It’s a great time to grab some tech at reduced prices!
