Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the final phase of Mumbai Metro Line-3 and launched ‘Mumbai One’, India’s first integrated mobility app. This app aims to connect 11 public transport services, making travel easier for the city’s residents.

During the inauguration at Navi Mumbai International Airport, Modi sharply criticized the Congress party. He accused them of bowing to foreign pressure and neglecting the feelings of Mumbai’s residents. He attributed this perceived weakness to the events surrounding the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks, suggesting that the actions of the Congress government at the time sent a message of vulnerability.

Modi expressed the importance of infrastructure development in achieving a ‘Viksit Bharat’ or Developed India. He emphasized that when citizens choose Indian-made products, they support the economy and create jobs. He stated, “Every rupee spent on infrastructure helps improve citizens’ lives,” noting the political challenges that can disrupt progress.

The new airport, according to Modi, will enhance connectivity and boost the local economy by linking Maharashtra’s farmers to international markets. He also mentioned that improved air travel, through the UDAN scheme, has made flying more accessible. With the new Navi Mumbai International Airport, the city will have its second international hub, following the first. This development positions Mumbai as a significant connectivity center in Asia.

Focusing on the youth, Modi shared a positive outlook for job opportunities in fields like robotics, electric vehicles, and renewable energy. He highlighted the importance of training in these emerging sectors, saying, “This is a time of countless opportunities for the youth of India.”

On a broader scale, Modi noted India’s rapid development in the aviation industry, highlighting its status as the third-largest domestic aviation market globally. He acknowledged that this growth is supported by the establishment of new airports and the initiatives like the UDAN scheme.

With India having one of the youngest populations in the world, Modi reiterated that policies are focused on maximizing job opportunities for young people. By fostering an environment where youth can thrive, Modi believes India can continue to advance its position internationally.
