Troy University Celebrates Record-Breaking 0K+ Donations on Giving Day 2025 – Join the Impact!

Troy University donors have once more demonstrated their incredible Trojan spirit. In just 24 hours, they raised over $500,000 during the University’s eighth annual Giving Day, marking the most successful event yet.

This year’s theme, “One Day. One Purpose. One TROY.,” brought together alumni, students, faculty, and friends from various places—including the U.S. and even Germany—to support scholarships and programs across campus. The total came to $523,610 from 458 generous donors.

Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. expressed his gratitude. “Thank you to everyone who supports TROY. You’ve truly made a difference,” he said.

Donors had the option to direct their gifts toward scholarships, academic programs, athletics, and other initiatives across the University’s five colleges. Contributions varied widely, from first-time givers to loyal supporters. Matching gifts came from individuals and organizations, including Drs. Onik and Heather Lewis, and several anonymous donors.

Challenges issued by the Troy University Alumni Association helped spark participation. Sydney Owen, Director of Annual Giving and Special Projects, emphasized the importance of community in this event: “Giving Day is about Trojans coming together to give back. Each gift reflects a commitment to our mission and a desire to help future generations thrive.”

Giving Day isn’t just about numbers; it’s a celebration of community spirit. According to recent statistics, charitable contributions from alumni have increased significantly over the last decade, showing a growing investment in education and future leaders. A 2022 survey found that nearly 80% of alumni feel more inclined to donate when they see fellow graduates participating.

The impact of this year’s Giving Day is clear. It supports not only immediate student needs but also builds a foundation for future growth. For more insights into how donations are changing lives at Troy University, visit givingday.troy.edu.
