Discover Brian Goldstein, PhD: Driving Innovation as Dean of the College of Health Professions

What drew me to Pace? It’s the mission of Opportunitas. The College of Health Professions lives this out with strong academic programs, community care, and a commitment to health equity. I believe my background in health sciences leadership and collaborative spirit can truly make a difference here. Returning to the East Coast to work in a vibrant city is an added bonus. It’s the perfect place to educate future health professionals who can enhance community health.

I contribute to Pace’s success by helping others succeed. My role focuses on fostering innovation and collaboration. I work on creating equitable learning environments and aligning programs with workforce needs. This supports interprofessional education and builds partnerships that benefit students and faculty alike. I also prioritize faculty development, providing resources and training that enhance teaching and scholarship. Leading with values like curiosity and passion helps teams connect to our shared goals of advancing student success.

What do I enjoy most at Pace? It’s the wonderful people. Daily interactions with faculty, students, and staff make my work rewarding. I collaborate with academic leaders to improve student outcomes and support faculty advancement. Creating spaces where everyone thrives is fulfilling, and it’s exciting to see the positive impact we can have in our communities.

Outside of work, my wife and I love exploring Westchester and New York City. We enjoy walking trails, cultural events, and trying out local restaurants. We also spend time with our older daughter and her fiancé in Manhattan and welcome visits from our younger daughter, who lives in California.

I am truly honored to be part of the Pace community. I look forward to what we can achieve together to enrich our students’ lives and strengthen our university.

Recent surveys highlight the increasing importance of health education as the workforce evolves. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs in the healthcare field are expected to grow significantly in the coming years. This underscores the vital role educational institutions like Pace play in preparing the next generation of healthcare leaders. By focusing on collaborative, equitable education, we’re not just meeting today’s needs but also shaping the future of health professions.
