Packers Make Exciting Roster Moves – What It Means for the Team | October 11, 2025

The Green Bay Packers made some notable updates to their roster. They’ve officially added kicker Lucas Havrisik to the active roster. The team also signed Brant Banks to the practice squad while letting go of Deslin Alexandre from the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst shared this news on Saturday.

Lucas Havrisik, who stands 6’2″ and weighs 185 pounds, is a young player from the University of Arizona. In his career, he’s had several opportunities with different teams. He spent time on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad last year and was also part of their offseason training. In 2023, he joined the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad but later moved to the Los Angeles Rams. There, he played in nine games, successfully making 15 of 20 field goals and 19 of 22 extra points. He also impressed with seven touchbacks on eight kickoffs. After returning to the Browns for the offseason, he was on the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad last season. In 2025, he played in 10 games for the Dallas Renegades in the United Football League, making 22 out of 25 field goals. As a new Pack member, he’ll wear No. 35.

Brant Banks entered the league as an undrafted free agent from Rice in May 2025. He has spent some time on the Packers’ active roster and practice squad, playing in two games. Recently, he was briefly with the Tennessee Titans but was released shortly after. He’ll be wearing No. 72 for Green Bay.

Insights from the Field

Kicking performance can significantly impact a football game, as recent studies show that teams with reliable kickers tend to have better win rates. According to NFL statistics, successful kicking percentages have risen over the past few years, emphasizing the importance of strong special teams. Havrisik’s track record suggests that he could be a valuable asset for the Packers as they aim for a successful season.

A Quick Look Back

Historically, the Packers have faced ups and downs in their kicking game, much like other teams. In the past, they have struggled with consistency at the kicker position, making Havrisik’s acquisition timely. The team’s focus on strengthening their special teams is evident, and fans are eager to see how this change will affect their upcoming games.

Overall, the Packers’ latest moves indicate their commitment to enhancing the roster and aiming for success this season. Keep an eye out for how these changes will play out on the field!
