Greene County Public Health is hosting a Drive-Thru Flu Clinic this Wednesday from 3 PM to 6:30 PM at the fairgrounds. Director Shelby Cooklin shared that anyone six months and older can receive their flu shot. To speed things up, you can fill out a form ahead of time or do it on-site.
This program has been a hit in the community for several years. Cooklin noted it’s especially popular among seniors and families with young kids. It offers a convenient way to get vaccinated without leaving your vehicle.
If you can’t make the Drive-Thru Clinic, don’t worry! Greene County Public Health also offers flu shots at their office in the Greene County Medical Center. Clinics are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 AM to noon, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 PM to 3 PM. You can also get the flu vaccine from your primary care doctor, pharmacies, or other clinics.
Getting vaccinated is crucial, especially as flu season approaches. The CDC reported that only 50% of adults and about 60% of children received flu shots last year. These numbers highlight the importance of programs like the Drive-Thru Clinic. It makes vaccinations easier for everyone and helps protect our community.
Consider checking the latest vaccination recommendations from the CDC here. It’s always good to stay informed, as the health landscape can change rapidly. Plus, taking preventive measures now helps ensure everyone stays healthier as colder months draw near.
