Seton Hall Pirates and Hennessee Dazzle in Thrilling Round 1 of Bryson Invitational

Will Hennessee is making waves at the Bryson Invitational in Daniel Island, S.C. The Seton Hall sophomore wowed everyone with a fantastic round of 68, which puts him at 4-under-par and tied for second place among 84 golfers. The leader, Ryan Ford from Cincinnati, is at 6-under-par after one round.

This tournament is a big deal for Seton Hall. It’s one of their top events, featuring prominent schools like Duke, Kansas, and Wisconsin. On day one, eight teams, including Seton Hall, ended up under par. Currently, the Pirates are tied with South Carolina for seventh place with a team score of 287 (1-under-par), while Vanderbilt leads at 10-under-par.

Jack Bosworth, a senior from Daniel Island, also made a mark with his first sub-par round this season—1-under-par, 71. He snagged an eagle on the challenging par-4 No. 18 hole and holds 19th place.

Eli Shah, a junior, finished at even-par with 72, placing him tied for 30th. Senior David Lally managed to contribute with two birdies, ending his round at 4-over-par. Luke Nolan, another sophomore, had a tough day with a score of 77.

The Bryson Invitational not only showcases talented golfers but also offers an exceptional course experience. Daniel Island Golf Club is celebrated for its stunning landscape and its two championship courses designed by acclaimed architects Tom Fazio and Rees Jones.

A unique aspect of this tournament is its format. Each team fields five players, but only the four best scores contribute to the team’s total. This format encourages teamwork and strategy on the course, as players support each other to achieve the best results.

As Seton Hall continues play, eyes will be on their collective performance to see how they stack up against some of the strongest teams in collegiate golf. Let’s see if they can climb the leaderboard in the upcoming rounds!
