L&T chairman SN Subrahmanyanwho finds himself in the midst of a giant social media backlash following his 90-hour work week feedback, received a complete compensation of Rs 51 crore in the final monetary yr, in line with L&T’s FY24 annual report.
Following the controversy sparked by Infosys founder Narayana Murthy’s advocacy for a 70-hour work week, Subrahmanyan has additional intensified the work-life stability dialogue by supporting 90-hour work weeks for workers.
According to an ET report, Subrahmanyan’s compensation bundle comprised Rs 3.6 crore as base wage, Rs 1.67 crore in stipulations, Rs 35.28 crore in fee, and Rs 10.5 crore in retirement advantages.
The report indicated that the common wage for male workers at L&T, excluding Board members and Key Managerial Personnel, stood at Rs 9,77,099/-, whereas feminine workers earned a median of Rs 6,76,867/-.

Actress Deepika Padukone contributed to the dialogue, expressing disapproval of Subrahmanyan’s statements.
