Get ready, heroes! Big changes are coming in Diablo IV with Season 11. We’re revamping how items work, how monsters fight, and how players defend themselves. Plus, there’s a new dungeon called The Tower, where you can climb the ranks on a leaderboard. These updates will be felt in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms.
The 2.5.0 PTR opens on October 21 for PC Battle.net users, where you can explore these new features. This blog gives a clear overview of permanent changes beyond Season 11.
Item Journey Overhaul
We’re listening to your feedback! The item journey in Diablo IV is getting a fresh look. We’re focusing on customization and prestige.
Tempering
You can now pick the specific affix for your items. No more random chance! Each item will now have only one tempered affix, and you can restore your Tempering Charges indefinitely.
Masterworking
Instead of increasing affix values, Masterworking boosts an item’s Quality, affecting its base damage, armor, or resistance. You can reach a Quality cap of 20, and after that, you can roll for a Capstone bonus, upgrading a non-greater affix into a Greater Affix.
Monster Combat Changes
Monsters are smarter now! They will react better in combat and have distinct roles. Expect tougher battles as enemy groups become more strategic, requiring you to adapt your tactics.
Updates for Elite Enemies
Elites will have over 20 new affixes and now spawn with minions. Each affix is more engaging, making it critical to learn these new strategies.
Defense and Healing Updates
We’re reworking defenses in Diablo IV. Armor and resistances now form a rating system, with a new metric called Toughness to help you gauge how much damage you can take. This should create a more balanced gameplay experience across all classes.
Healing Mechanisms
Potions are changing! You can now hold four potions, which offer immediate healing based on a percentage of your health. Plus, you’ll regenerate one potion every 30 seconds, making their use more tactical.
Introducing Season Rank
With Season 11, the Season Journey will feel more rewarding and challenging. You’ll need to complete specific challenges at each tier to advance.
Capstone Dungeons Return
Five Capstone Dungeons are back, designed to test your skills as you progress. Be sure to check the recommended levels and difficulty for each!
The Tower and Leaderboards
The Tower is a timed dungeon that pits the best players against each other. You’ll fight through multiple levels, facing challenging monsters while collecting Orbs to boost your score.
The Leaderboards are also back, allowing you to see how you stack up against other players. They are divided by different categories, so everyone has a chance to shine.
Changes to the Welcome Back Booster
The Welcome Back Booster will now be found in the Training Ground. New accounts will no longer receive this, but if you log in before Season 10 ends, you’ll still be able to use it later.
A New World Boss: Azmodan
Azmodan, the Lord of Sin, is back as a permanent world boss. Gather your allies to face this deadly foe and his minions!
Don’t miss out on these exciting changes. Dive into the 2.5.0 PTR starting October 21 and prepare for new adventures!
