Microsoft is revamping Copilot for Windows, aiming to enhance user experience. Early versions of Copilot allowed users to adjust PC settings through simple questions. While this feature was later taken away, Microsoft is bringing it back. Now, Copilot can direct users to specific areas in the complex Settings app, making it easier to navigate.
Recently, Microsoft released Copilot Connectors to Windows Insiders, granting access to services like Gmail and Dropbox. This allows users to seamlessly interact with their files and emails. Copilot can also export chat content into documents, offering a convenient way to refine information in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
Another exciting addition is AI actions in File Explorer, now appearing in the right-click menu. Users can batch-edit images and get summaries of documents, integrating AI into everyday tasks rather than confining it to specific applications. The Copilot Vision feature allows Copilot to view entire Office documents, enhancing productivity.
However, the timing of these features isn’t clear. They may be limited to Windows Insiders for now and are not part of the current Windows 11 25H2 update.
Microsoft seems to have learned from last year’s rollout of Windows Recall. This planned feature launched without beta testing, leading to various issues. This time, they’re prioritizing feedback from testers, ensuring a smoother experience for everyone.
As of now, analysts suggest that incorporating AI into intuitive tools like Copilot could significantly streamline workflows. A recent survey by TechCrunch found that 65% of users find AI integrations helpful for their tasks, showcasing a growing trend toward smart automation in technology.
