The film kicks off with Alok Goyal, played by Khurrana, lost in a jungle while trying to create the next viral video. He encounters a mysterious woman named Tadaka, played by Mandanna. Their initial meeting is tense, as they are soon pursued by dangerous figures dressed in black.
The story introduces a unique twist with the concept of a “parjaati” called betaals, who feast on the blood of non-humans. While this offers intriguing possibilities for a supernatural romantic comedy, the execution falls flat. Unlike the earlier successful films from Maddock, which balanced humor and horror, “Thamma” seems to wander without direction.

One of the reasons past Maddock films worked was their ability to stay light-hearted, even amidst scares. In comparison, “Thamma” feels overly serious.
