Troy Golf Team Wraps Up Fall Season at The Ally
In the final round of The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club, freshman Constanza Quiroga shot a 2-over 74. This performance marked her as Troy’s leading player for the second time this fall, finishing tied for 23rd place overall. The Trojans wrapped up their last event of the season in 14th.
Throughout the tournament, Quiroga and her teammate, Victoria Stutts, led the Trojans with a total of seven birdies. Laura Fangmeyer added five more. Quiroga’s consistent play stood out; she recorded 38 pars and was among the top for fewest bogeys, with just eight.
Starting her round on the 10th hole, Quiroga turned in two over. After a bogey at the first hole, she quickly bounced back with a birdie on the second, her only under-par score of the day. Meanwhile, Stutts had an exciting round, with five birdies, including four in a five-hole stretch after the turn. She finished the day 3-over, moving up three spots to tie for 67th.
Fangmeyer and Manya Saini both ended the tournament tied for 69th, while Evelyn Tankersley closed with an 11-over score, finishing in 81st place.
The tournament was competitive, with No. 13 Florida taking the team title, beating No. 8 Arkansas by five shots. This match showcased top-tier teams, including No. 7 Vanderbilt and No. 11 Ole Miss.
Troy finished the tournament with a total score of 52-over, but they played their best round on the final day, finishing 16-over.
Looking ahead, the Trojans won’t return to competition until late February for the Babs Steffen Invitational. This break gives the team time to regroup and prepare for the challenges ahead.
