New Delhi is gearing up for the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025, scheduled for October 30th-31st. This year, Assam, Meghalaya, and Telangana are teaming up with the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) to take part as State Partners.

Each state brings unique strengths: Assam is known for its fragrant Joha and Bao rice, Meghalaya is focused on climate-resilient farming, and Telangana uses technology to boost rice productivity.
All three states will also help produce a Coffee Table Book on Indian Rice and will contribute their insights to the Vision and Roadmap for the Rice Sector’s Contribution to Viksit Bharat @2047. This document aims to support sustainable and inclusive growth in the agricultural sector.
Historically, India has been a major player in the global rice market, being one of the top producers. In fact, recent data shows that India accounts for over 20% of the world’s total rice production.
