In a recent update, Glick shared, “Worlds this year was a turning point. He expressed frustration over how attending tournaments has become “less fun.”
He revealed that in the 2025 tournament season, he attended seven official competitions, and at five of them, he experienced inappropriate touching while posing for photos. “Most people don’t act like this, and I don’t know why it’s happening to me,” he said, shedding light on his discomfort.
Glick also mentioned the emotional toll these events have taken on him. He described how intense stress and anxiety can engulf him during tournaments, stating, “It takes me about a week to feel normal again after an event.” This kind of pressure is unfamiliar to him, as he generally considers himself low-stress.
He will be taking a break from all in-person events for at least four months. This includes significant competitions like the international championships and regionals. He stated, “I’d rather take a break now than be forced to later.”
Despite these challenges, Glick hasn’t ruled out returning to competitions entirely. “I still have immense respect for my competitors,” he noted. Many fans and fellow players support his decision, echoing sentiments about the importance of safety and respect in gaming spaces.
