Denison Men’s Swimming Triumphs at Home: A Thrilling Victory Over Xavier!

Granville, Ohio – The men’s swimming team kicked off their season in style with a commanding victory over Division I Xavier University, winning 168-94. This win puts them at 2-0 against Xavier, featuring an impressive 27 top-three finishes, including a sweep in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard freestyle.

Standout Performers:
George Goins shined brightly, taking first in both the 1000 freestyle and the 500 freestyle with times of 9:35.11 and 4:42.58, respectively. Jack Hill also made waves, clinching victories in the 200 and 100 freestyle events, clocking in at 1:40.07 and 47.70 seconds. Liam Nelson excelled in the breaststroke, securing top spots in both the 100 and 200 breast events, finishing in 56.79 seconds and 2:05.10. Lastly, Luke Swiggett claimed first place in the 200 backstroke (1:53.86) and had a solid performance in the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.60.

Denison also triumphed in both the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay. The 200 medley relay team, consisting of Hill, Jimmy Rogers, Sam Hibbert, and Nick Hensel, swam to a time of 1:31.65. In the 400 freestyle relay, Hill, Hensel, Goins, and Harry Parsons hit the wall with a time of 3:04.18.
