Union, N.J. (10/25/25) – The Kean University men’s soccer team celebrated a 2-1 victory over Rutgers-Camden on Saturday evening.
How It Happened:
In the seventeenth minute, the Cougars struck first. Daniel Nigro made a strong play, setting up David Esteban Camargo. Camargo passed to Donte East, who fired a powerful shot that hit the post and rolled into the net.
Kean extended their lead to 2-0 early in the second half due to an own goal. Nigro sent a cross into the box that the Scarlet Raptors keeper initially saved. However, a defender tangled with the keeper, mistakenly putting the ball into the net.
Rutgers-Camden responded in the 66th minute, breaking the shutout. Dylan Pino drew the Kean keeper out of position. Just before the ball went out, he passed to Nik Grello, who finished in front of an open goal.
