Tulane sailing continues to impress by securing the SEISA Fall Championships for the sixth year in a row. This achievement marks the Green Wave’s dominance in both the open and women’s championships, with highlighted performances that set them apart from the competition.
In the women’s fleet race, Tulane clinched victory with a total of 28 points across eight races. The talented duo of Sophia Dias and Caitlin Briggs led the A Division, racking up just 10 points by winning six races. Their teammates, Ashley Hoguet, Allie Capsso, and Charlotte Casey, also made waves in the B Division, finishing second with 18 points.
The open championship showcased another stellar display from Tulane. With a total of 51 points across 12 races, they won decisively, finishing 66 points ahead of their nearest rival. Alejo Di Blasi and Caitlin Briggs were particularly impressive in the B Division, winning every race and finishing with just 12 points. In the A Division, Ryan Ehnot, Eliza Corral, Sophia Adams, and Maura McPartlin secured second place with 39 points.
This remarkable streak not only shows Tulane’s consistent excellence but also reflects their commitment to teamwork and skill. According to sailing expert John Jones, “Success in sailing often comes down to communication and strategy. Tulane’s teams exemplify this with their seamless coordination on the water.”
Looking ahead, Tulane is set to host the Baldwin Wood regatta on November 1, where they hope to extend their winning streak. With racing starting at 10 a.m. on Lake Pontchartrain, many fans are eager to see if the Green Wave can maintain their dominance.
