Join the Fun at Vandal Science Day: Free Event at University of Idaho on November 7!

The University of Idaho College of Science is gearing up for Vandal Science Day on November 7th. This free event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Integrated Research and Innovation Center (IRIC) in Moscow. It’s a fantastic opportunity for middle and high school students to dive into the world of science.

At Vandal Science Day, students can engage in hands-on activities and demonstrations. They’ll have the chance to meet U of I professors, interact with fellow students, and explore various science fields. Some exciting features include:

  • Interactive science activities
  • Guided lab tours, including a video game design studio
  • Giveaways and fun photo opportunities
  • A science competition with prizes

This year, Vandal Science Day has teamed up with Idaho Eats, providing attendees with a special all-day dining rate at The Eatery, an on-campus restaurant.

As more educational institutions focus on engaging youth in STEM fields, events like Vandal Science Day play a crucial role. Research shows that early exposure to science can increase interest in related careers. A study published by the National Science Foundation found that students who participate in hands-on scientific experiences are more likely to pursue and persist in STEM disciplines.

This event is not just for classroom groups; students can come independently or with family, making it accessible for everyone in the community.
