ITPS Canada Enhances Pilot Training with Avionq’s Cutting-Edge Simulation Technology

International Test Pilots School (ITPS) in Canada has chosen Avionq’s software to enhance its military training aircraft. The software is set to be delivered by January 2025, with its use starting later that year.

This new technology, called AqLab and AqModel, will help students train with models of current missile types. Avionq claims this will improve their understanding of in-flight missile performance, which is crucial for making quick decisions during combat.

AqModels can simulate various missile platforms, supported by AqLab’s visualization tool. This includes air-to-ground, air-to-air, ground-to-air, cruise, and hypersonic missiles, alongside guided bombs and loitering munitions.

Mikael Grev, the founder and CEO of Avionq, noted that adding AqLab and AqModel will enable ITPS Canada to mirror real-world threats, preparing trainees for the trials they will face in combat.

ITPS operates a diverse fleet of 30 aircraft, including the L-39 Albatross jet trainer, as well as transonic fighters and single-engine planes. The school also places a strong emphasis on training simulators in its programs.
