Bethlehem, PA – After a solid win against rival Lafayette, Lehigh volleyball faced off against Bucknell on Sunday at Leeman-Turner Arena. Unfortunately, the Mountain Hawks fell short, losing in three sets.
In the first set, both teams struggled to find their rhythm. Bucknell managed a hitting percentage of .156, while Lehigh’s was a disappointing -.029. Bucknell took control midway through, winning the first set 25-18.
The second set started well for Lehigh, where they briefly led 14-10. However, Bucknell turned the momentum around with a 10-2 run, reclaiming the lead at 20-16. They closed out the set with a strong hitting performance, finishing at .355 and winning 25-19.
In the third set, Bucknell continued its strong play, hitting a match-high .387. Despite Lehigh leading three times, Bucknell secured the final set 25-19, marking their sixth win in the Patriot League.
Junior Ufuoma Omene stood out for Lehigh, leading with ten kills, while senior Madison McCartney contributed six block assists. Junior Abby Felkai had ten assists, and sophomore Sophia Bond topped the defense with 14 digs.
For Bucknell, Bri Frazilus and Sidney Shaffer led the attack with 12 and 10 kills, respectively.
