The Exynos 2600 is Samsung’s newest application processor, built with a cutting-edge 2nm process. It’s expected that the Galaxy S26 series will be the first smartphones to embrace this technology. While the Galaxy S26 and S26+ are likely to feature the Exynos 2600 globally, whispers suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might also adopt this chip in Europe and South Korea.

This new processor reportedly achieves impressive results on Geekbench. A recent post on X highlighted scores of 4,217 for single-core performance and 13,482 for multi-core. These numbers not only surpass previous benchmarks but also put the Exynos 2600 in league with high-end processors, like Apple’s M5 chip.

Samsung has significantly improved its chip design. The Exynos 2600 features a deca-core CPU arranged in a 1 + 3 + 6 cluster. Its prime core runs at 4.20GHz, while the three performance cores hit 3.56GHz, and the remaining six cores operate at 2.76GHz. This arrangement, coupled with Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistors, enhances energy efficiency and reduces current leaks.

This leap forward is especially noteworthy considering Samsung Foundry has struggled in the past. In 2022, the company faced challenges with chip production, leading Qualcomm to shift its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 production to TSMC. However, Samsung appears to have turned a corner, boosting its yield rates significantly.

Historically, Samsung’s Exynos line faced criticism for trailing behind Qualcomm’s Snapdragon series. The turning point came after 2020, when Samsung re-evaluated its custom core development. The improvements made in the Exynos 2600 show that Samsung’s efforts are starting to pay off.

For context, the Apple M5 chip scores 4,263 in single-core tests and 17,862 in multi-core tests, illustrating the competition Samsung is up against. However, it’s undeniable that the Exynos 2600 marks a significant advancement for Samsung’s chip technology.
