The Redding Police Department recently arrested a man involved in a chaotic scene at a local business. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at Jacque’s Design Studio in Downtown Redding.

At about 3:23 p.m., officers responded to reports of a disturbance. Witnesses said a man followed a woman into the store and accused her of theft, causing quite a commotion. He then vandalized items inside before fleeing.
Police later identified the suspect as 28-year-old Tyree McPherson, a resident of Georgia. He was found near the intersection of Market Street and Eureka Way. When officers approached him, he tried to resist arrest but was ultimately taken into custody.
During the arrest, the police discovered drug paraphernalia on McPherson. The victim confirmed his identity as the one who caused the disturbance. The damage to the studio included broken and scratched items, amounting to about $1,595.
McPherson now faces several charges, including felony vandalism, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The case has been sent to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for further action.
