Braver Angels is a movement that aims to unite people across political lines. The South Central Iowa chapter will host its monthly meet-up on Saturday, November 15, from 10:30 A.M. to noon at the Winterset Public Library.
Dr. Adrien Halliez, an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Drake University, will be the guest speaker. He’s from France and speaks English, French, and Spanish. His research focuses on American public opinion, political polarization, and the impact of populism. Dr. Halliez’s unique background offers an interesting perspective on U.S. politics.
This gathering won’t be a formal lecture. Instead, it will be a chance for everyone to engage in an open discussion. Attendees can ask questions and share their thoughts about the current political climate.
You can join in-person or via Zoom. If you need the Zoom link, contact Anne Murr at amurr@braverangels.org. For general inquiries, reach out to Richard Tucker at rtucker@braverangels.org.
A recent survey by the Pew Research Center shows that nearly 70% of Americans believe the political climate is more divisive than it was in the past. Events like this encourage dialogue and understanding, which are crucial in times of division.
It’s essential to talk about these issues, especially when many feel disconnected from each other. So, come by, share your views, and help foster a sense of community. Let’s work together to bridge divides and strengthen our democracy.
