The First Friday Town Market is returning to James Island on November 7, and it’s sure to be a lively event! From 6 to 9 p.m. at Town Hall (1122 Dills Bluff Road), visitors can enjoy live music, tasty food from various trucks, and unique local vendors.
One highlight of the evening will be a performance by Dan & the Donuts. In addition to the fun, the James Island Tree Council is giving away free trees—just come early to grab yours while supplies last. Plus, bring some canned food for a drive benefiting James Island Outreach, which will be collecting donations at their tent.
Mayor Brook Lyon calls First Friday a community favorite. It’s a chance for everyone to gather, support local businesses, and have a great time with family and friends.
If you’re planning to join, you’ll find free parking at several nearby spots: the Hillman lot on Dills Bluff Road, behind the Anglican Church on Camp Road, and at the First Baptist Church parking lot on Camp Road.
Recent trends in community markets: Events like the First Friday Town Market are part of a growing trend. According to a recent survey by the National Community Market Association, over 60% of Americans have attended a local market in the past year. These markets are great for connecting people, supporting local vendors, and boosting community spirit, especially post-pandemic when many are eager to socialize again.
With this exciting mix of music, food, and community involvement, the First Friday Town Market promises to be a memorable evening.
