It’s been quite a rough day for PS5 fans with game delays. GTA 6 has just been pushed back to November 19th, which is certainly disappointing. But it doesn’t stop there; Skydance Games has also announced that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra won’t be coming out as expected in early 2026, and we don’t have a new release date yet.
In their statement, Skydance emphasized their commitment to quality:
“Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an ambitious project. We are dedicated to ensuring it meets the expectations of our team and fans. To fully realize our vision, we’ve decided to shift our release date beyond early 2026.”
For those unfamiliar, this game is being led by Amy Hennig, a key figure from the Uncharted series. It’s set during World War II and focuses on Captain America teaming up with Black Panther. You can also play as Gabriel Jones from the Howling Commandos and Nanali, a leader in the Wakandan spy network.
The excitement around this game has been building since its announcement in 2019. However, there’s a growing concern among fans about its long development time without much recent information.
Interestingly, surveys show that many gamers are feeling frustrated by these delays, indicating a shift in sentiment around game releases. In 2022, a poll found that 76% of gamers expressed disappointment over delays affecting their excitement for upcoming titles.
While these setbacks are tough, they often reflect complex development processes. Industry experts point out that ambitious games require more time for polish and testing.
With Plaion taking over publishing duties in 2024, there’s still hope that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will eventually meet fans’ high expectations. But for now, we’re left wondering just how much longer the wait will be.
