New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has confirmed its engagement with UAE authorities regarding Major Vikram Jaitly. He is the brother of actress Celina Jaitly and has been detained for over a year.
“We are actively involved in Major Jaitly’s case. Our consular team in Abu Dhabi has met him several times and continues to provide assistance,” said MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal during a recent briefing.
The Delhi High Court has directed authorities to ensure Major Jaitly receives proper legal representation. Celina Jaitly brought attention to her brother’s situation by seeking diplomatic help through the court.
When asked about US President Donald Trump’s potential visit to India next year, Jaiswal had no new information to provide. “I’ll share updates when available,” he said.
Additionally, Jaiswal responded to recent allegations about Pakistan’s nuclear activities, saying these actions fit a long-standing pattern of violations. “India remains committed to responsible nuclear practices, ensuring our defense aligns with national interests,” he noted.
Experts highlight that such issues are critical in today’s geopolitical climate. According to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center, public confidence in national security remains a top concern for many citizens around the world. This underscores the importance of transparency and responsibility in nuclear matters.
In conclusion, Major Jaitly’s situation has garnered attention not just due to familial ties but also because it reflects broader issues of international diplomacy and national security.
