PARKERSBURG – If you’re looking for food assistance, calling 211 is your best bet. According to Stacy DeCicco, the executive director of the United Way of the Mid-Ohio Valley, this hotline can connect people to food pantries quickly and easily.
Many food pantries are adjusting their hours to meet rising demand. By reaching out to 211, you can get updated info on where and when to go for food, as well as any eligibility requirements.
“We’re available 24/7,” DeCicco explains. “We make sure our information is accurate and current for those who reach out.”
In Marietta and across Washington County, food pantries welcome cash and check donations to help cover essential costs like utilities. Some also have specific needs for items such as baby formula or diabetic-friendly foods.

Social media is buzzing with community support, with hashtags like #FoodPantryChallenge becoming popular for encouraging donations. Many locals share their experiences, further strengthening community bonds.
Whether you need help or want to lend a hand, local food pantries are here for you. Every contribution, whether time, food, or money, can make a significant difference in someone’s life.
