Grammy Week Events Canceled: Sony Music and Warner Music Group Pull Out Amid L.A. Wildfire Crisis

With the 2025 Grammy Awards just around the corner in early February, major record labels are shifting their focus due to the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. These events have devastated local communities, prompting Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group to cancel their planned Grammy week festivities.

Universal Music Group, home to artists like Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift, announced they are scrapping all Grammy-related events. This includes their annual showcase meant to highlight new acts and Grammy nominees. Instead of celebrating, they are channeling their resources into wildfire relief efforts, particularly for employees affected by the fires.

Sony Music Entertainment also called off its much-anticipated afterparty, where stars like Adele and Harry Styles have celebrated in the past. They, too, are redirecting their funds to assist local relief efforts in Los Angeles. Warner Music Group followed suit with similar cancellations.

However, it appears that the Clive Davis pre-Grammy gala will still take place as originally planned, celebrating its 50th year this time around.

This year’s Grammy Awards will air live from the Crypto.com Arena in downtown L.A. Beyoncé leads the nominations with 11, while Kendrick Lamar, Charli XCX, and Billie Eilish each have seven. Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan follow closely with six nominations.
