Join the Parsippany MOMS Club’s Thanksgiving Food Drive: Help Local Families in Need!

PARSIPPANY — With Thanksgiving around the corner, the Parsippany MOMS Club is rallying the community for their annual food drive. This effort supports the Center for Family Services, an organization dedicated to helping families in need throughout New Jersey. The goal is to make sure every household can enjoy a warm, festive meal this holiday season.

The club is looking for donations of shelf-stable, non-perishable items. Think canned vegetables, boxed stuffing, pasta, and other long-lasting pantry staples. Every little bit makes a difference and helps feed local families.

You can drop off your donations at 12 Ser Del Drive in Parsippany. There’s a collection box right next to the mailbox, making it easy for residents to contribute. Volunteers check the box several times daily to ensure everything is collected and stored properly. Please remember, the last day to donate is November 16.

To keep things safe and tidy, please stick to unopened shelf-stable items and avoid fresh produce or perishables, as these can spoil.

Here’s a quick list of the items needed:

  • Boxed stuffing mix
  • Instant mashed potatoes
  • Canned vegetables (like corn and green beans)
  • Canned sweet potatoes or yams
  • Canned cranberry sauce
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Canned gravy
  • Canned soup
  • Rice and boxed pasta
  • Canned fruit
  • Pie filling and graham cracker crusts
  • Boxed dessert mixes (like brownies or cake)
  • Shelf-stable milk
  • Breakfast cereals or oatmeal
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Shelf-stable juice

A representative from the MOMS Club expressed gratitude to the community, saying, “Every year, our neighbors show incredible generosity. It’s heartwarming to see everyone come together to support one another.”

Interestingly, community food drives are a vital part of the holiday season, especially as recent studies show that food insecurity affects nearly 1 in 10 households in the U.S. This drive not only helps provide meals but also fosters a spirit of compassion. As we face challenging times, community support feels more important than ever.

The food collected will be delivered to the Center for Family Services in time for the holiday, ensuring local families have what they need to celebrate.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out via the MOMS Club’s official social media page. Let’s make a difference together this Thanksgiving!
