Big Box Office Win for “Predator: Badlands”
“Predator: Badlands” has made a splash at the North American box office, debuting with a strong $40 million. This is exciting news for theaters, especially after a tough summer. The film, from Disney’s 20th Century Studios, opened bigger than expected, even surpassing past hits from the franchise.
This latest movie, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, tells a fresh story. The film received positive reviews, with an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an “A-” on CinemaScore.

Despite the excitement around “Predator: Badlands,” the overall box office has struggled. On a brighter note, “Sarah’s Oil” was the standout among the new releases, earning $4.5 million. This film tells the story of a young Black girl in the early 1900s who discovers her land is rich in oil. It scored an impressive “A+” CinemaScore from audiences.
With Disney having a solid year, thanks to “Predator: Badlands,” they are on track for another successful box office total, aiming for over $5 billion once upcoming hits like “Zootopia 2” and “Avatar: Fire and Ash” are released.
