St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Edmonds is hosting a drive-thru food drive on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event aims to collect food for the Edmonds Food Bank and nearby pantries.
Food banks are facing rising costs, making community donations more critical than ever. According to recent reports, food insecurity is increasing, partly due to uncertainty in programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). “Every item helps,” a representative stated, emphasizing how essential local support is right now.
They recommend donating non-perishable items such as soups, canned meats, peanut butter, and dried pasta. Diapers and infant formula are also very much needed. If you prefer, cash donations are welcomed as well. Just make checks payable to St. Alban’s and note “Food Drive” on the memo line.
Volunteers will be present at the church, located at 21405 82nd Pl. W., to collect donations. The church is near the Five Corners intersection, easily recognizable by signs on 84th Avenue West and 212th Street Southwest.
Local efforts like this can significantly impact the community. In 2022, the Edmonds Food Bank reported serving over 10,000 individuals, showing how vital these drives are.
For more details on this event or to donate, you can reach the church at 425-778-0371. Your generosity can make a real difference in fighting hunger in Edmonds.
