Madhya Pradesh Day was celebrated in style recently at the Bharat Parv 2025 held near the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. This year marked the 150th birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as India’s Iron Man. The event kicked off on November 1 and featured the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Patel, along with Deputy Chief Ministers and tourism officials.
During the celebration, Minister of State for Tourism, Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, spoke about the essence of unity, highlighting the theme of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.” The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board showcased a lovely pavilion that highlighted the state’s rich tourism, culture, and crafts.
The pavilion offered snapshots of famous places like Sanchi, Khajuraho, and Mandu, as well as beautiful national parks such as Bandhavgarh and Kanha. It also displayed traditional arts like Chanderi and Maheshwari fabrics, Bagh prints, terracotta pottery, and Gond paintings, revealing the state’s vibrant culture.
Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, described Madhya Pradesh as “the heart of Incredible India.” He stressed that the event allows visitors to experience the rich flavors, traditions, and creativity that the state offers. He emphasized that each dish, art form, and narrative reflects India’s essence.
As part of the festivities, the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation held a “Studio Kitchen” segment, featuring local dishes like Sannata, Kangni Dal Shorba, and the well-loved dessert, Kutki Kheer. Live cooking demonstrations attracted many visitors, taking them on a tasty journey through Madhya Pradesh’s diverse culinary landscape.
A cultural highlight was the dance performance “Amrutasya Madhya Pradesh,” choreographed by Maitryee Pahari. This stunning display narrated the state’s rich history, from the ancient rock art at Bhimbetka to the stunning temples of Khajuraho and Sanchi’s Buddhist heritage.
Artists adorned in local textiles like Maheshwari and Chanderi added vibrance to the performance. The event concluded with a soothing Narmada Aarti, captivating the audience and celebrating the spiritual richness of Madhya Pradesh.
According to recent tourism statistics, Madhya Pradesh saw a 20% increase in visitors following vibrant cultural events, reflecting a growing interest in its heritage. This trend showcases the growing appreciation for India’s diverse cultural landscape and its ability to draw tourists from different backgrounds.
