The third quarter saw Holy Cross taking a four-point lead before Brown rallied with an 8-0 run, closing the quarter at 46-43. Tension built as the game neared its end, with Holy Cross tying the score at 61 just two minutes before the final whistle.
Brown managed to score a free throw and a layup, bringing their total to 64. However, Holy Cross capitalized on a missed opportunity by Brown, allowing Simone Foreman to sink a decisive layup, sealing the Bears’ fate.
Three players finished in double figures for Brown: Charlotte Adams-Lopez, Monet Witherspoon, and Aima Ofunrein. The team shot 40.7% from the field, and the game felt very competitive, with nine ties and 12 lead changes.
Looking ahead, Brown will head to Catonsville, Md., to take on UMBC on Sunday, November 16.
